Carlo deserves all of the accolades that are showered upon him. My wife and I were married in Florence, Italy in September, 2007. We wanted to have a nice ambiance at a small villa. Of course we paid attention to the details…flowers, music, food, etc. But nothing was more important to us that the photographs. So we were VERY particular about what we were expecting from the snapshots of our day and I can whole-heartedly say, we were left with nothing but astonishment.
The artist known as Carlo Carletti was able to capture the intricate details that turn a simple photograph into a work of art. His eye for composition is impeccable. His ability to work with light is worthy of the cover of Time Magazine. This genius can turn a simple act of tying your shoes into an image that you would want to frame and display above your mantel.
While his body of work leaves nothing to desire, that is not what makes Carlo Carletti one of the most highly coveted photographers in Italy. Often you hear that the ‘great ones’ develop a bit of arrogance, that they can’t be bothered and treat you more like a number than a person. This is the furthest thing from the truth. Carlo was fantastic! He laughed with us, he joked with us, he carried on a conversation that was more than just small talk…he was simply, sincere. Carlo never made us feel rushed. He took his time, he let us feel like ourselves. The best thing about this, is his ability to let us feel comfortable showed through in all of the photos. You can tell from each image that we were enjoying every moment. You can see from the smiles upon our faces that dreams really do come true.
I do hope that those that read this post, that have yet to approach Carlo in regards to capturing their special day on film, can feel confident that you are in the most spectacular and most capable of hands. Your wedding day will remain in your memory for years to come. But the photographs Carlo will capture will remain in your children’s and grandchildren’s hearts’ forever.
