Our Artisan Bookbinder

Today we went to our bookbinder. His laboratory is located in a town not far from our studio in Tuscany, we often visit him as he makes our wedding photo albums, and today I had my camera with me I felt the urge to take some photos of him and celebrate this man who with his art gives birth to our ideas for the wedding books.

Bookbinding is a highly skilled craft requiring enormous patience, concentration and knowledge. It is a profession kept alive by very few dedicated men like him.

He specializes in traditional bookbinding and book restoration in the ancient styles of the great masters, working for libraries and many varied companies operating in such fields as print, publishing, design.

He takes care of all the production of our wedding books and every volume he creates for us and for our clients is a unique piece. When a product goes out the door, he knows it’s going to last a generation at least, if not three or four. His beautiful hands tell the lifelong story of his dedication for this old art. Michela
