Wedding at Villa Mangiacane

Here are some photos of the wedding of Sana and Alain, a beautiful couple from Paris. The wedding took place in the magnificent Villa Mangiacane, a 15th century villa built by the Machiavelli family, bearing the unmistakable hand of the Renaissance master, Michelangelo. The villa is set in the Chianti Classico area, within 600 acres of flourishing vineyards and olive groves and boasts stunning vistas across the Tuscan countryside towards Florence . The classic beauty of Mangiacane combined with its history, art, and idyllic countryside setting create the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable Tuscan wedding. The ceremony was set openair in the back garden of the villa with olive groves as background. Dinner reception took place in the beautiful sculpture filled garden of the villa. Elegance and the warm, joyful atmosphere were the main ingredients of this beautiful wedding.

Villa di Catignano near Siena is one of the most romantic places in Tuscany to get married: an old, fairy-tale country house in Italian style framed by olive trees and an idilic panoramic view over the surrounding landscape and Siena. The interior of the villa is charming, full of light with open fireplaces, frescoed walls and Tuscan period furniture. So as you can imagine it’s the perfect setting for wedding photos, in particular the Italian garden with paths surrounded by cypresses. It’s hard to imagine not having the most romantic wedding at Villa di Catignano, and for us photographers the perfect chance for a good photographic work. This wedding was very special and emotional, a mixture of Danish and Italian-Canadian lovely people who made the most beautiful day.

We often have the chance to shoot weddings in Siena also for this is the city where we live. Despite the fact that we travel all over Italy for the wedding photo services we must admit that Siena with its splendid Piazza del Campo remains one of the most beautiful settings for wedding photos. A wedding in Siena always provides the occasion to set photos in an extraordinary architectural contest. The city is visited by a lively and pleasant tourism that often contributes to the background of the photographic story of the couple. All the weddings we shoot in Siena have a special atmosphere. Siena’s town hall ‘Palazzo Pubblico’ where civil weddings take place is one of the world greatest examples of gothic civil architecture. Nearly every major room in the palace contains areauthientic masterpieces of Italian art such as the Maestà by Simone Martini and the spectacular fresco by Ambrogio Lorenzetti ‘Allegory and Effects of Good and Bad Government’. It is possible to photograph the couple with these extraordinary works of art for a memorable wedding. If you get married in Siena you certainly won’t regret it……

Matrimonio a Siena

Ci capita spesso di fotografare matrimoni a Siena anche perchè è la Città dove viviamo. Sebbene giriamo tutta l’ Italia per servizi di matrimoni dobbiamo riconoscere che Siena con la sua splendida Piazza del Campo rimane uno dei più bei setting per fotografie di matrimonio. Un matrimonio a Siena da sempre l’occasione per ambientare le fotografie in un contesto architettonico straordinario. La Città è visitata da un turismo vivace e gradevole che spesso fà da sfondo alle “vicende fotografiche” della coppia. Tutti i matrimoni che realizziamo a Siena hanno ogni volta un atmosfera particolare. Il Palazzo Pubblico dove si svolgono i matrimoni è uno dei più grandi esempi di architettura civile di epoca gotica del Mondo. Al suo interno si trovano autentici capolavori dell’arte italiana come la Maestà di Simone Martini e il grande affresco di Ambrogio Lorenzetti raffigurante gli “Effetti del Buono e del Cattivo Governo”. E’ possibile fotografare la coppia tra queste starordinarie opere d’arte per il ricordo di un matrimonio indimenticabile. Se vi sposerete a Siena vedrete che non ve ne pentirete…….

This Russian English wedding took place at the Castello Il Plagio immersed in the heart of Chianti Classico’s region in Tuscany. When you arrive at Il Palagio you are confronted by the enchanting view of a 13th century Castle surrounded by grape and olive groves. The outdoor wedding ceremony took place in the Italian garden and was followed by a dinner reception inside the castle’s candlelit courtyard, which was beautiful and felt like going back in time.

I love Scottish weddings, they are such an interesting blend of ancient Highland traditions and modern celebrations. This wedding took place at Villa Pitiana in the Tuscan countryside. The bride looked stunning in her elegant white wedding gown, while the groom, the best men and friends of the groom were beautifully dressed in traditional Highland kilt, kilt jacket and sporran. The ceremony was celebrated in the medieval courtyard of the villa, which provided a very nice and intimate setting, and it was followed by aperitifs served outdoors with the majestic villa sparkling of its elegant yellow in the background. The reception was held in the garden with the stunning view over the Tuscan hills under a midsummer starry sky.

Wedding at Relais La Suvera

This beautiful wedding took place at the historic residence Relais La Suvera, situated in the enchanting Chianti countryside between Siena and Florence. The venue is outstanding, the perfect setting for an intimate and elegant wedding. The bride and the groom got ready in the two different stuites that are really worthy of museum status, with their sumptuous canopied beds and filled with oil paintings, tapestries, ancient sculptures and precious chinaware. Such a perfect backdrop for photos! The people and the overall atmosphere were beautiful, so joyful and emotional, which provided great scenes and situations we thoroughly enjoyed capturing. The ceremony was held in its quaint church, followed by a welcome hour accompanied by a lively band playing folk music in the outdoor Lemon Garden, and the dinner reception in the elegant dining room. After dinner the cutting of the cake could’t come without fireworks, music and dancing. I hope these pics will convey some of the beauty and joy of that lovely wedding day.

Wedding in Lake Como

Being back in the relaxed atmosphere and enchanting scenery of Lake Como surrounded by mountains rolling down to the waters edge is always a special experience.
This wedding we shoot last summer took place at Villa del Balbianello, famous not only for it’s refined and sophisticated beauty but also for the James Bond movie Casino Royale was filmed there, and the same villa can also be seen in Star Wars II: Attack of the Clones. The Villa with its panoramic terraced garden dominated by the elegant “loggia”, and the view across the Lake Como are absolutely breathtaking. The ceremony took place in the loggia facing the lake. The bride reached Villa Balbianello by water taxi while her groom and guests were waiting for her at the Villa. After the ceremony we had a fascinating boat transfer sipping a glass of champagne while heading back to Villa Serbelloni where the reception was held. This location has something special that captures your heart, and…. If you want to enjoy a slice of the Bond lifestyle, this is highly recommended!

I truly enjoyed working at this wedding. It took place at the beautiful Villa La Vedetta in Florence. The couple and the whole party were very friendly and fun which made it easy for us to take great pictures. They were sweet and at the same time playful and spirited. What a great combination! So capturing the love, laughter and fun was an extremely enjoyable job!
