Wedding in Pisa

One of the world’s most recognizable buildings is surely the Leaning Tower of Pisa, a symbolic image for Italy and an awesome structure that is actually a bell tower and took almost 200 years to build! But the Leaning Tower is only one of Pisa’s breathtaking attractions, the magnificent Duomo, the Battistero, and the Galleria that encloses the Campo dei Miracoli (the Field of Miracles) and the historical centre of Pisa with its narrow streets that open into charming little squares, its multicolored markets and noble palaces. The wedding ceremony took place at Palazzo Gambacorti, the 14th Century Town Hall of Pisa located along the Arno river. The civil ceremony was held in the the gorgeous “Sala del Consiglio” decorated with wonderful Murano chandeliers, huge frescoes and red furnishing. It was followed by a reception at Villa Lungomonte, a beautiful 17th century Villa immersed in the green hills between Pisa and Lucca. It was set in the wonderful park surrounding the villa which is made even more precious by the secular trees. Here are some pics…

The Castello di Gargonza is a lovely medieval village situated on a hill dominating the Val di Chiana valley, between Arezzo and Siena. With its tower, walls and 13th century Romanesque parish church, is the perfect setting for a romantic wedding. But the highlight of this wedding in Gargonza were the children, there were quite a lot for a an intimate wedding such as this, and they really contributed to the fairy-tale atmosphere that a wedding at the Castello di Gargonza provides. On a wedding day, what an incredible gift to be surrounded by the pure energy of wonder, passion, teamwork and recognition- all the things you hope married life will bring. Since our arrival at the castle it was so beautiful seeing them eager to collaborate and contribute while the bride was getting ready and filling the air and the space with their energy and wonder during the whole day.
